My room completely ready!!

This has been my most efficent year setting up my classroom! I moved my desk to the middle of the room which helped me create a divider for two different work areas!

Bookcases

This has been a huge help in keeping my kids work areas more organized!! It doesn't take them long at all to get their books for work time!

Updated my mailbox!

I mentioned in my Tips section how I use a mailbox in my classroom. Tonight I updated it so that it would go with the theme for my classroom! So easy to do, spray paint it black then added the pain with a sponge brush!

Coming all together!

After taking a couple of days last week to work in my room it is really starting to come together. I am expected to have between 18 and 20 kids this year so I wanted to make my classroom as functional as possible. In the past I had always struggled with organizing to maximize space. This year I feel that will not be the case! Below is just a sneak peak at what my room is starting to look like. My theme is polka-dots!

Here is my class library, in the past I had to use 3 smaller bookcases that never matched. This year my teaching partner gave me this big one and the baskets I got at Target in the $1.00 bin! The creates and cushions are my seating area.

 I moved my desk to the back wall that is nothing but windows. I use to put workstations there but often found kids distracted by what was happening on the playground. With my desk area where it is it will allow me more room to work with kids at my desk if need be.

Seats done!

I was able to get the cushions done for my new reading/library seats in my classroom. The fabric goes along with my theme this year, overall it was fun to get creative and didn't cost me hardly anything!

Back at it!

Just stepped into my classroom today! I decided after being there and moving a few things around I still needed a few more days off before jumping back in, but I did get the floor plan pretty much figured out! The decluttering is going well also, the head custodian cleared out a few things for me! So excited for all the possibilities!

New seats!

So I finally found the perfect crates for my classroom I love the colors!! I am going to find some cute material to make cushions for the top of them and they are going in the corner of my classroom library! I will post another picture of them when they are completed! Great deal on them at Wal-Mart!
